Exports

For a single book, the ⬇ Export wizard on the bookshelf produces individual files. For a full press-ready package across platforms, use the release bundle.

Three steps

① Choose formats — multi-select cards. Anything above your plan is marked with a lock rather than hidden.

② Review — exact filenames, front and back matter toggles for the PDF, the eBook cover preset, and the narrator voice if you are exporting audio.

③ Run — each format in turn, with a status row, and a retry on any that fail.

The formats

Exports cost no credits on any plan.

The print PDF

Rendered on the server by the same engine as the editor's Page view, so the file matches what you were shown — one layout engine rather than two that drift.

The trim is exact, fonts are embedded, margins are mirrored, and running heads and paragraph style follow your format settings.

It comes back with its measured page count, which is the number the release board and your cover spine use.

EPUB and DOCX

Converted from the same clean per-chapter content as the PDF.

The EPUB gets one spine item per chapter and a real table of contents. Your front matter is included, and the ISBN goes into the metadata.

The eBook cover is not embedded — stores take it as a separate upload, which is why the wizard offers it as its own file at each store's dimensions.

Remote images are stripped; embedded ones survive.

Layout books

A layout book exports its print PDF and covers. EPUB, DOCX and audiobook are not offered, and the modal says why — see The release bundle.

What to watch for

• A free (unsubscribed) account gets no downloadable file at all. Not a watermarked one — a watermarked download still looks like a deliverable, which misleads.
• Export the cover from the release board, not by eye. The wizard's cover is a quick single-platform file; the board's is checked against a measured interior.
• Exports are rate limited. They launch a real browser server-side, so a rapid burst is throttled. The bundle exists partly to avoid this.
