AI enhancement
The accept-or-reject review panel — instructions and presets, variant history, the word-level diff, enhancing a selection, and reverting an accepted edit.
✦ Enhance is the core interaction of the product, and it is built on one rule: the AI never silently overwrites your work. Every suggestion arrives beside your text for you to accept, reject, regenerate or hand-edit.
The panel
Your draft on one side, the AI's on the other. On a phone it becomes a full-screen review sheet with a Mine · AI · Diff switch, because a 50/50 split at that width leaves two unreadable columns.
Steering the edit
A free-text instruction box, plus presets:
| Preset | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tighten | Cuts without losing content |
| Expand | Develops what is there |
| Simplify | Plainer language |
| Proofread | Corrects errors only — and opens on the diff |
| More vivid | Stronger imagery |
| Formal | Raises the register |
Proofread is the one to know. It is a strict corrections-only instruction and it lands you on the Diff view automatically, because reviewing a short list of minimal corrections is the feature.
Variants and the diff
Every regeneration is kept. The ‹ › arrows walk back through previous attempts, so a better earlier version is never lost to one more try.
The Edit / Diff toggle shows a word-level comparison of your original against the draft. Hand-edits you make in the AI pane survive switching views, and Accept takes what is on screen — including your edits.
Enhancing a selection
Select a passage before pressing Enhance and the panel scopes to it: the instruction becomes "rewrite only this passage", the full chapter goes along as context, and Accept becomes Replace selection ✓.
The replacement is checked before it lands. If the passage changed while the panel was open, you get a clear message instead of a blind splice into the wrong place.
Reverting
Accepting snapshots the chapter first, so ↺ Revert AI change puts it back in one click.
That button covers the most recent accept. For anything older, use version history — every accept also writes a restore point.
What it costs
The button shows the price: ✦ Enhance · ≈2 cr. The number depends on the model
you have selected, which you can change right there in the toolbar.
What to watch for
- Enhancement is not streaming yet. The text arrives complete rather than word by word. Cancelling mid-call works.
- A cut-off chapter is refused, not accepted. If a model hits its output limit the app raises an error rather than letting you accept a chapter that stops mid-sentence.
- Enhance is per chapter. To redraft the whole book, use auto-draft.
